Left Lower Back Pain Causes and Treatment

It can be concerning when the cause of left lower back pain is difficult to find because diagnosis are either uncertain or hard to determine. There are many possible causes with some being serious and some temporary.

Generally, lower left side back pain is more commonly caused by improper lifting or a sudden twisting motion that pinches a nerve/compressed disk, thereby causing inflammation and sudden pain in the back. Initial rest and stretching with ice compression is the best remedy for treating left lower back pain. Also, developing a consistent plan of proper stretching, lumbar strengthening movements and routine cardiovascular exercises like walking will do wonders for lower back pain prevention.

If the left lower back pain that you experience is intense or other symptoms occur like pain radiating down the legs then immediate medical advice is recommended as you might have more severe problems than the common pinched nerve or inflamed disk.
